The eighth production batch of 600 aircraft ordered from A.V. Roe & Co Ltd, being the third part of Contract # 1807 and the second part of Works Order # 8545.
A.V. Roe produced the major components at Chadderton, with assembly and flight testing being undertaken at Avro Woodford. The Avro factory at Yeadon, Yorkshire, both built and flew the aircraft at that site.
Deliveries commenced Dec 1943 and completed May 1944
All aircraft were initially installed with Merlin 38 engines.
5 aircraft converted to Lancaster B VI after leaving Manufacturers.
