The sixth production batch of 250 aircraft built by Metropolitan-Vickers, Manchester, under Contract # 2221. 121 aircraft completed as Lancaster B I’s with Merlin 24 engines initially installed.
Deliveries commenced Dec 1944 and completed June 1945.
Balance of order RA628-655 completed as Lincoln Mk. BI (January to September 1945). RA656-RA658, RA661-RA-693 and RA709-RA724 completed as Lincoln Mk. BII (September 1945 to December 1945). Serial Numbers RA725-RA749 and RA763-RA786 believed to been ordered as Lincoln’s were cancelled outright.
The Last 7 Lancaster and 11 Lincoln's were transferred, un-assembled, for completion at Vickers-Armstrong’s (Aircraft) Limited, Chester
